Big cards with an even bigger message

Big cards with an even bigger message

Within the center’s creative workshops, talented young people created handmade New Year greeting cards of an impressive one-meter size and weighing around 2 kilograms, made from reinforced 350 g/m² art paper. Each card was developed over several days, using a variety of artistic techniques and materials, including ink, drawing pens, markers, oil pastels, acrylic paints, glass contours, and textured fabric.

Each card is a unique work of art, carrying a personal message, creativity, and attention to detail. The initiative is inspired by the long-standing tradition of Christmas cards, which dates back in Bulgaria to 1885 and globally to 1843, but is presented here in a modern, large-scale, and unconventional interpretation.

The created cards were donated to full-day centers for children and youth using social services in Kardzhali – Day Care Center “Nadezhda”, Residential Care Center for Children and Youth with Disabilities – “Veselchane” district, Residential Care Center for Children and Youth – “Pazara” district, as well as to the Municipality of Kardzhali. In this way, the young people delivered a festive message of empathy, care, and hope to the local community.

Since its establishment, the Youth Center – Kardzhali has been actively involved in charitable and social initiatives, which are an integral part of its activities. These include participation in festive bazaars and campaigns, including the Christmas initiative “Let’s Give Hope for Christmas,” through which young people demonstrate that art can be a bridge between tradition and human compassion.

The activity is part of the implementation of Contract No. BG-RRP-1.008-0001-C01 “Establishment of a Youth Center in the city of Kardzhali” under Procedure BG-RRP-1.008 “A1 YOUTH CENTERS (IN REGIONAL CITIES)”, funded through the Recovery and Resilience Facility.
