I started playing at the age of nine. My true passion was sparked after watching the famous bagpiper Vasil Anastasov perform on stage. I was captivated by his virtuoso playing and the way his music conveyed history, evoking deep emotions within me. He became my teacher—first at the community center and later at the OCKMD in Kardzhali. He is the person who introduced me to the intricacies of the bagpipe and our folklore traditions.
Balancing my studies at the "Yordan Yovkov" Secondary School with the bagpipe isn’t always easy, but it all comes down to good planning, persistence, and dedication, as well as the support and understanding of my teachers and school administration.
Over the years, I have participated in many national gatherings and folklore festivals, earning awards, gold medals, and certificates. While these are important recognitions of my hard work, for me, success is not measured by awards alone. Success means preserving and continuing the folklore traditions of the Rhodopes; it means stepping onto the stage in traditional costume with my bagpipe and seeing the smiles and joy in people's eyes. Seeing them join the horo dance with love, moved by the sound of the bagpipe—that is what fills my soul. Making people happy is my greatest reward.
Success is not a destination, but a journey—a path of hard work, knowledge, dedication, and faith in oneself and in God. If I have ignited a spark in people's hearts to play as I do, that is my greatest satisfaction. I know that success comes with perseverance and a heart full of love for what you do. Every dream can become a reality.
